PBA Trade Rumors: Magnolia made the right decision to say NO to Wright?

The Matthew Wright saga continues as we are day-by-day nearer to the upcoming season and the contract situation is not yet solved.

I am very sad about this because it shows that even companies that we are assuming to have good level of finances is having a hard time keeping their franchise player.

The reality is, Matthew have been the face of the Phoenix franchise from the moment he arrived there. And he has almost all the good qualities to be that face.

So, I am hoping Phoenix will still find a way to retain the guy.

What was surprising though was the report that coach Chito Victolero rejected the rumor that Paul Lee will be dealt for Wright because he wants Lee to be there.

The report was not clear though if that was a specific answer to Lee being dealt or about a trade for Matthew Wright.

Overall though, I think a Paul Lee for Matthew Wright swap will be a big win for Magnolia. The reality is there is a truth to the rumblings that Paul disappear in the Playoffs. Also, his injury issues have been consistent.

So, for Magnolia to say No to a potential swap for a player that may have a better skillset overall in Matthew Wright, is a mistake.

Add the fact that Wright is younger and that rumored decision is hard to justify.
