PBA Analysis: Ginebra coach Tim Cone will coach in Miami Heat of the NBA!

There are a lot of things happening in Philippine basketball that it is getting hard to cope up with everything. One of the biggest is this report about coach Tim Cone.

According to the report, coach Tim Cone was invited to be part of the coaching staff of Miami Heat in the upcoming NBA summer league.

He accepted the offer. So, he will be one of the assistant coach during the said short term competition. Just to be clear, that doesn't mean that he will be under coach Erik Spoelstra. Most of the time, the main coach of a summer league team is one of the current assistant coaches of the team.

The tournament will happen soon. So, coach Tim will miss four games of Ginebra and coach Richard Del Rosario will takeover.

Actually, I am excited to see how coach Richard will do. Knowing that he has been a long-time deputy of coach Tim Cone.

Overall though, this is an excellent thing for Philippine coaching of basketball. As this could open up a path for our coaches to learn on-hand from the NBA.

But, it may also be a risky thing for the league. What if this is the beginning of Filipino coaches being taken by the better leagues in the world?

Just like what happened with the players?
