Blackwater Elite is the most surprising team in the early part of the season until they went for their current losing streak.
Right now, I think there is a good argument that San Miguel is a good candidate too.
Yes, it is still mind blowing for me that Blackwater went for that hot winning streak even though they entered the conference with arguably the worst roster.
But, I do not think the majority of the PBA fans also saw San Miguel ending as the top seed in this tournament. Specially with the injuries to Terrence Romeo, Vic Manuel and Chris Ross.
What happened though was that SMB suddenly evolved in terms of their style and found a winning system. It was a modern style.
Here is the catch. Maybe two of Romeo, Ross and Manuel will will be returning in this playoffs. What happen now?
Jericho Cruz, Simon Enciso and Rodney Brondial will be returning to their old butt-consuming role? If that happens, I do not think the scheme that is working smoothly will be the same.
I think coach Leo should consider keeping those three as important as much as possible.
