PBA Power Ranking: Top 10 MVP Candidates!

We are having a very good tournament in this Philippine Cup. We have clear powerhouse teams and we have a lot of dark horses.

How about our MVP race? Here is currently our top 10 candidates! Take note that we need to have some forecasting here knowing that MVP involves the entire season and not only the Philippine Cup!

#10 Matthew Wright
Wright is clearly the ace player of Phoenix and he performs very well. He still have a long shot in this MVP if Phoenix will have surprising run in the last two tournaments.

#9 Ato Ular
What if Blackwater make a deep playoff run in this Philippine Cup and remained to be a playoff team in the import-laden conferences? And Ular remains to be the top player of Blackwater?

#8 Ian Sangalang
#7 Jio Jalalon
Magnolia should have candidates too. For me, their top options are Ian Sangalang and Jio Jalalon. Ian is currently their top scorer but the problem with him is, he is a traditional center who is actually not that dominant by the numbers and visually.

On the other hand, Jio is currently #1 in the league in terms of assists at 6.7 per game. He also adds 12.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.9 steals to that.

#6 Chris Newsome
Chris is easily one of the most consistent wing player in the league in stuffing the stat sheets. This season, he is averaging 15.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 43% FG per game.

#5 Robert Bolick
Robert is not as monstrous as last year but just like Matthew Wright, he has the talent to suddenly carry his team to a deep playoff run, putting up out of this world numbers.

#4 Scottie Thompson
Scottie is the reigning Most Valuable Player but I think he is currently my #4 because of the way their team is currently structured and with the improved performances of the top 3.

#3 Japeth Aguilar
Who is currently the top scorer of Ginebra? Yes, it is Japeth. Japeth is currently averaging 17.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.3 blocks and 60% FG per game. He is also the top blocker in the league which means he is combining offense and defense at the top level.

#2 Junemar Fajardo
Fajardo is showing different skills in this tournament. He has connected from beyond the arc. He has delivered a seven assists game. If San Miguel ends up as the most successful team this season, Fajardo will be the MVP.

#1 Mikey Williams
Mikey did not start the tournament but man, he is playing like an import in a tournament of All Filipino. He is manufacturing 25.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 46% FG and 42% 3FG per game.
