There is no question that Blackwater is the most surprising team in this 2022 Philippine Cup. I am now fully supporting them to win the championship.
Nevertheless, other than their sudden success inside the court, they have not shown any evidence in the transaction table to rinse off the stench of being a farm team.
So, if they are still a farm team, I think this teams should target their top 5 players.
Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser - Magnolia
It seems like coach Ariel Vanguardia is playing Brandon as a stretch bigman for the time being. That is not surprising because Ular and Taha are magnificent inside operator. With his ability to stretch the floor and high potential, Magnolia is the best fit.
Rey Suerte - Converge
Suerte is their top wing play-creator. He is not yet efficient with it but he has shown a lot of glimpses that he can be special in the future. Converge will benefit a lot by adding a young play creator like Rey.
JV Casio - Ginebra
I still think that Ginebra will benefit a lot by adding a superb three-point shooter in the point guard position. LA Tenorio is playing well even at his age but his three-point efficiency is already not good. Same with Nard Pinto who is shooting below 10% from beyond the arc!
Yousef Taha - Meralco
Meralco has a lot of wings and guards who can create shots. They have centers who are play finishers. What they need is a bigman that they can run plays through like Taha who is currently the top assist big man in the league!
Ato Ular - NLEX
NLEX has a good trio of scorers in Calvin Oftana, Don Trollano and Kevin Alas. Although, all of them are more of outside oriented guys. How about a magnificent inside operator like Ular?
