Gilas Pilipinas Issues: Kevin Quiambao should be part of the Gilas team!

The Gilas pool that coach Chot Reyes and his subordinates crafted was reasonable. But, it was mind-boggling to seem Kai Sotto and Japeth Aguilar playing big minutes together.

A two-bigman line-up that even forced Japeth to take three-point shot in the 4th quarter. I understand that Aguilar is training that shot already. Nevertheless, him taking that shot is a clear indication of one of the issues of Gilas, three-point shooting.

Now, it was also proven that Thirdy Ravena's spot in the Gilas pool could be diminishing because of the quality of the players that are becoming available for coach Chot.

One guy though that should have been there is the De La Salle University Green Archers superstar, Kevin Quiambao.

He is our best passing 6'7 taller guy that is available and playable in the International scene. Why was he not included?

I just hope that the reason is more about the current schedule of Kevin. I hope it is not because the coaching staff is actually not high on him as part of the Final 12 for the FIBA 2023.

Kevin has a good shot to be there. But the key to maximizing him is to build chemistry with the locked participants in Kai Sotto, Jordan Clarkson and Dwight Ramos.
