When you hate a person, it is easy to undervalue the right things that they are doing and overvalue the disappointing things that they are making.
This is the case for the Ravena brothers of the Gilas Pilipinas.
Coach Chot Reyes is easily the most hated guy in Philippine basketball but the Ravena brothers are close.
They are consistently a part of the national team and with the current bad run of the program, it is understandable that people are hating on the two players that are always there.
Do they deserve it?
It boils down to their qualification as members of the national team.
Kiefer Ravena is a point guard and may actually have a good argument to being the best overall point guard that is available for the national team.
Thirdy is the one that is more questionable. He is an all-around type of athlete without a clear elite skill.
The main issue is his inconsistency in shooting and defense. Those are the two most important skill for a bench player.
Thus, I kinda agree that there could be better forwards out there that should have taken that spot of Thirdy.
