PBA Controversy: San Miguel was robbed by the referees?

Jayson Castro proved once again that his monicker, The Blur, is not just appropriate for him but he is really a blur in the eyes.

The biggest controversy today is not the viral trade rumor of Jamie Malonzo to Ginebra. It is no other than the buzzer-beating shot of Castro.

So, did the referees made a mistake?

The explanation of mr. Fidel Mangonon could be the best one. When the timer in the shotclock above the board is at 0.00, it does not mean that there is no time left. That shotclock is not accounting for the milliseconds.

This is the reason why the real timer is the one that can be seen in the television and it shows that the ball was already in the air and a millisecond remains.

Also, do you really think the referee will favor the MVP group over SMC? No way. In terms of financial capacity, there is a good argument that SMC is still bigger than MVP. So, if the referee is 50/50 about the call, they will surely go with the one that will favor SMC.

In short, they may have clearly seen enough to conclude that the basket is counted. There is also a reason why the SMC group has been silent about it.

Also, San Miguel fans should stop claiming that they are robbed of a win because even if the shot was not counted, SMB will not be proclaimed as the winner but instead, it will go to an overtime.

Regarding the game, I actually think that the Beermen was the better team. Although, it was a close one.
