PBA Power Ranking: Top 5 head coaches today!

Here are our top 5 coaches in the PBA after the 2022 Philippine Cup!

#5 Coach Tim Cone - Ginebra
Of course, if we used their entire career as basis in this ranking, Tim Cone is the runaway #1. But, we are only using the last two years. And let me remind you that they have failed to reach the semifinals in the Philippine Cup, both times. Even though they arguably have the 2nd best roster. Fortunately, they will have two tournaments with Brownlee this season.

#4 Coach Norman Black - Meralco
The performance of Meralco in the last two years is actually better than that of Ginebra if we do not put extra weight to the championship of the most popular ball club in the country. They have two semifinals in the Philippine Cup and of course, the bridesmaid in the Governors' Cup. They did that with a line-up that is not in the top 3 in terms of firepower.

#3 Coach Chito Victolero - Magnolia
I know that it is now exhausting to witness Magnolia reached the semis consistently and bowing down either in the top 4 or in the finals. That though shows the greatness of a coach Chito Victolero. I still think that their main problem is their talent level. They badly need to acquire that star that will propel them in the next level.

#2 Coach Chot Reyes - TNT
Coach Chot is trying to win a back-to-back Philippine Cup title. They are currently in the lead and remember that in terms of roster, the analysts are unanimous that San Miguel has a good edge. The biggest difference is coach Chot Reyes.

#1 Coach Yeng Guiao - NLEX
When we say quality of coach, we can simplify that to the amount of success that the coach will add to a roster. I think, coach Yeng adds the most. He managed to again find star-quality production from a Kevin Alas and Don Trollano. While maximizing role players that may not even get minutes in San Miguel or TNT.
