PBA Trade Rumors: Ginebra-Meralco trade that benefits both?

There is a good argument that Barangay Ginebra San Miguel versus Meralco Bolts is actually the most interesting team rivalry in the league.

I understand that in terms of fan base, Manila Classico may still be the more popular one but I think the Ginebra-Meralco match-up had been more interesting in the past few years.

Even with this rivalry, that should not stop them from initiating trades that will help their teams. And we did here a good one.

It is a swap. Prince Caperal for Mac Belo.

It is a simple swap that I think helps the need of the two teams. We are talking about end-of-the-bench players here so in terms of fairness, there is no problem.

Meralco's weakest spot is their frontline. Adding another body in Caperal will solidify it. Caperal will also bring the capacity to stretch the floor.

If Almazan can continue to increase his efficiency from beyond the arc, a frontline of Caperal-Almazan will be very interesting.

On the other hand, Belo will bring versatility to Ginebra. He can easily takeover the role of Aljon Mariano and the biggest difference is that his shooting is way better.

That will be a big difference for a team who are consistently bad from the beyond the arc.
