PBA Trade Rumors: Ginebra, Phoenix or Japan, what is the best choice for Matthew Wright?

Matthew Wright is one of the loudest names in the trade rumor mill in the past few months. His name is also the loudest in terms of joining the Japan B League.

None of those two things has happened. Matthew is still a Restricted Free Agent of Phoenix. It means that he cannot sign with another PBA team. But, he has not signed a contract too in another league.

According to Snow Badua, the likelihood that he will go to Japan is high. Although, he also recognized that Phoenix has raised their offer and that Ginebra is interested.

So, Matthew has three options. Remain with Phoenix. Push for a trade to Ginebra. Or leave the PBA and go to Japan B League.

Which one is the best choice?

Without considering  the personal situation of Matthew, playing in Japan is still the best option for Matthew. I am pretty sure that Japan will provide him the highest salary.

Other than salary, playing in a better league is always the right option for very good players like Matthew. He needs to find out if he can be as good there.

The second best will be to push for a trade to Ginebra because the salary could be higher there and he should be trying to get a PBA championship, as much as possible.
