PBA Trade Rumors: Magnolia is targeting an underrated superstar?

Magnolia has been the most consistent playoff contender in the last five years of the league.

Unfortunately, in the eyes of fans and management, even a 10 straight semis appearance is not equal the worth of one championship.

Magnolia was not only consistent about their playoff success but also in being a slow-to-trade franchise.

Calvin Abueva is the biggest name that they have acquired after the shocking Paul Lee-James Yap swap.

Now, we have a rumor indicating that they are targeting an in-prime star in Jason Perkins.

There is a good argument that Perkins has been the most underrated PBA player in the last three years because he is a top 15 player but they do not treat him as such.

Is this a realistic rumor?

Yes. First, Phoenix and Magnolia has consummated trades in the past. Phoenix was the one who traded Calvin to Magnolia. So, it will not be shocking if they will consummate a big trade again.

Also, Magnolia management could be itching to make a big change too. Acquiring Jason is a big change. He seems to be right guy to partner with Calvin and Ian Sangalang.

Lastly, Phoenix could be exploring trades too for their other star as they continue to talk about Matthew Wright.

The question now is, is Paul Lee the guy that they are offering in exchange?
