Magnolia is easily the most consistent team in the PBA in the last few years. Semifinals is almost always a guarantee for them.
The question now is, was it worth it when they never won a championship?
Magnolia has been the torch-bearer for the importance of chemistry in basketball. Unfortunately, chemistry is not the only thing that matters.
So, let us suggest two trades that can improve Magnolia.
Terrafirma-Magnolia
Mark Barroca and 2nd round pick for Juami Tiongson and Aldrech Ramos
Believe it or not but Ramos is averaging double-digit in points, with 50% efficiency, with a block per game and with very good three point shooting. Ramos is actually the perfect partner to Ian Sangalang.
Mark is a way bigger name than Juami but I think Juami is the better partner to Jio Jalalon. Jalalon and Juami will be the perfect offense-defense combo in the league.
Magnolia-Phoenix
Paul Lee for Matthew Wright
Wright is a clear upgrade from a Paul Lee. Wright can defend more positions. His range is as good as Paul. He is healthier than Paul. And a good friend of Calvin Abueva.
The health alone can already be an immense improvement for Magnolia. I also think that Wright is fitted better in the running style of Magnolia.
