PBA Imports Highlights: is TNT Import deserving of being the next Gilas Naturalized player?

 

So, finally the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas made decisive moves in building up a pool of naturalize players for our national team.

I wonder why they failed to do it in  the last few years and they are just being decisive now that we are a year away from the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

So, they have Justin Brownlee and Cameron Oliver as candidates for the spots. The question now is, will it be worth it?

For Cameron Oliver, it is quite shocking to me that they gave him the spot knowing that he is not really that well-sought of an import.

Remember that the guys that they have tried are actually the ones who recently played in the NBA? And now they found themselves with Cameron who only has six NBA games under his belt.

It is good that he is still young at 26 years old and has the modern type of game that we can expect to evolve for the better.

But what made it really questionable to me is the presence of better candidates who even played in the league like Chris McCullough, KJ McDaniels and even Terrence Jones.

Those are guys are still in prime and they dominated the PBA. Maybe Oliver will also dominate the PBA but the reality is, his bust potential is still higher than the guys written above.
