PBA Trade Analysis: Ginebra-SMB-Northport trade! Who won?

So, the Jamie Malonzo trade is not actually a part of a three team trade between San Miguel, Ginebra and Northport.

It was a stand alone exchange wherein Ginebra won big by getting the future of the league for Arvin Tolentino, Prince Caperal and a late 1st round pick.

Now, there was a three team trade!

Northport received Kent Salado and Jeff Chan
San Miguel received two 2nd round picks
Ginebra received Von Pessumal

Is this trade, fair? Nope but Northport is not the biggest loser.

Northport got two players that cannot be equitable to two 2nd round picks but the value difference is not that much compared to Ginebra who basically gave up a player for nothing.

I think the trade value of Pessumal is just equal to that of Kent Salado or Jeff Chan. So, Ginebra gave up too much in this exchange.

San Miguel Beermen is the biggest winner because they got two good 2nd round picks for a bench player who did not average more than 6 minutes per game in their most recent title conquest.

Northport is a loser in this trade for overvaluing two bench guards. Chan will retire soon. While Salado was just a middling 2nd rounder.

Ginebra got a player that they need but also overvalued him. Although, they are still the biggest winner knowing that this trade is connected to the Jamie Malonzo trade.
