Philippine Basketball's Biggest PROBLEM!

This week is pretty rough for fellow Filipino fans of basketball. I am not only talking about the fans of the PBA. I am talking about everyone who thinks Philippine basketball is awesome.

Coach Tab Baldwin spoke about what happened in his departure from the Gilas program. It was good to know that coach Chot Reyes did not participate in the firing of coach Tab. But what was sickening was the reality that if coach Tab is telling the truth, then the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas lied to the public.

They said coach Tab resigned. The sharing of coach Tab clearly shows that coach Tab never resigned. He was replaced. In short, he was fired.

Before the week ends, the PBA commissioner also spoke to the media and talk about another controversy. Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser was part of the highly criticized TNT-Blackwater-NLEX three-team exchange.

Fans are claiming, rightfully, that trading of #1 pick is not allowed because of a rule. The commissioner cleared it to the public that the rule is not yet approved by the board.

I checked back to the article of PBA.ph, the website of the league, and the title states, PBA Board approves no trade of no.1 pick.

So, for five years, the PBA allowed the public to believe that there is such a rule. Actually, they lied to the public with the way the article was written.

And now, the lie is out and the fans are angry.

What is the biggest problem right now in Philippine basketball? It is not the International leagues who are giving an opportunity for players to earn more and play on a better league.

It is not even the lack of parity in the PBA.

It is the reality that the people at the top of the most important organizations in Philippine basketball are lying to the public.
