Here is our updated mock draft using the combined standings from the Philippine Cup and from the Commissioner's Cup's October 19 standing.
1 DYIP Deschon Winston - This guy opened my eyes. It is not that easy for me to appreciate guards because of the amount of supply in the country but Deschon is special. He is as special as Mikey Williams.
2 ROS One of Paras/Thirdy/Ramos/Baltazar - I have not given up on this belief. Thirdy Ravena and Dwight Ramos has stable and consistent role in their teams. I am currently looking at Kobe Paras and Justine Baltazar as the guys who are more likely to return.
3 ROS Luis Villegas - This guy can be special. At 6'8. he is currently the most efficient three-point shooter in the UAAP. He is a modern bigman that the PBA badly needs. He will be a perfect fit to coach Yeng Guaio.
4 MER Keith Datu - Is their a chance that Meralco Bolts is tanking? They could be doing it on the perfect time as the upcoming draft could have a deep list of tall centers that they badly need. Datu is the most intriguing at this point.
5 NOR Sedrick Barefield - There is a good chance that Barefield wil slide in this draft even with his pedigree. Northport can pounce on that and in a few years, cash in with Barefield.
6 NLEX Juan Gomez de Liano - NLEX could be looking for a partner to Kevin Alas. Juan has the talent to be that guy. Juan is well-rounded enough to fit with another scoring guard like Alas.
7 NOR Brandon Bates - Northport badly need a center. At this point of the draft, Bates is the best name available. He is a traditional bigman who has the size to become a starting caliber center in the PBA.
8 BWE James Kwekuteye - With Blackwater's connection to the MVP group, I expect them to take care of James. He is a big guard of San Beda and has shown a huge improvement in his three-point shooting.
9 DYIP Frank Yu - Just likke Blackwater taking care of James, Terrafirma can also do that for the San Miguel Corporation in grabbing Frank Yu.
10 PHX Kenmark Carino - Phoenix should go for a center. They have Tyler Tio and Encho Serrano in their guard. Javee Mocon is their for their wing/forward. Center is what they need and Kenmark is the best one potentially available here.
11 BWE Zavier Lucero - Zavier is currently my top candidate for a big slide like the way Encho Serrano suddenly went to the 2nd half of the 2nd round even though he was forecasted as a first rounder.
12 MAG Will Gozum - If Gozum managed to get the NCAA MVP award, he could catapulit into the top 8. If he fails to do so, I expect Magnolia to catch him here.
