PBA Power Ranking: Top 5 2023 MVP Candidate!

I think the MVP race today is very interesting. The leading candidate is pretty obvious but with him getting injured, that can be enough time for the other candidates to catch.

Take note that team success is pretty important with the way the race for the Most Valuable Player is being discussed, nowadays.

#5 Robert Bolick
Bolick is playing like an import in this 2022 Commissioner's Cup. He is currently the frontrunner for the Best Player of the Conference award. Even with his amazing numbers and ability to carry his team to victories, team success could deter him from winning the MVP.

#4 Jayson Castro
This is all about his amazing showing during the 2022 Philippine Cup playoffs, specially on the finals. He was better than Mikey during that finals. If he can do that again and help TNT win a championship, the case for The Blur as the MVP will grow stronger.

#3 CJ Perez
Perez is being overshadowed by the return of the Kraken form of Junemar Fajardo. The reality is, Perez is playing like a Predator in this season. He is producing 18.1 points, 43% FG, 6.3 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 2.3 steals per game. Those steal numbers are very high and make it easy to conclude that he is an elite two-way player.

#2 Mikey Williams
Williams was not his usual self during the 2022 Philippine Cup finals. Can he overcome that and be better? The first two games of Mikey in this Commissioner's Cup is not promising as he averaged 13.5 points, 35% 3FG, 6.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game.

#1 Junemar Fajardo
I think the 2023 MVP is still on the grasp of Fajardo. With his 19.0 points, 14.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.3 steals and 64% FG numbers, no one is close. But, with his injury that will forced him to miss a lot of games, others can improve their case.
