Terrence Romeo was activated to play after missing eight months of action due to a nagging back injury. He missed in the entire Philippine Cup.
Now, he was in uniform in their game against Terrafirma. Coach Jorge Gallent wanted to play Terrence but Terrence refused!
This clearly shows that there is a miscommunication between the coaching staff and Terrence. If Terrence is really ready to play, I wonder what could be the reason for his refusal?
The easiest assumption is that he is not yet healed. So, the coaching staff could have been misinformed about the severity of his healing.
But what if Terrence is actually starting to push for something? I mean, he may have a long-term contract but knowing that injury is starting to punish him and that he could be receiving the highest contract offered to a Filipino in Japan, Terrence could be taking a risk here.
