PBA Controversy: Ginebra VS San Miguel Finals, cooking show?

If you are a long-term Filipino basketball fans. I am pretty sure that you know that one way or the other, we will hear fans start to rumble about a cooking show soon.

The game 1 of the two semifinals this 2022 PBA Commissioner's Cup were awesome. Bay Area showed that they can overcome adversity. Magnolia was resilient after losing their import. Ginebra though exhibited mastery of winning games.

Now, the question is, are the referees clearly siding with any team?

There are numbers that we can check for that. They are two clear numbers that referees have a say. They are personal fouls and turnovers.

In the game of Bay Area and San Miguel, San Miguel actually was called for more fouls! And Bay Area attempted more free-throws.

Also, San Miguel committed more turnovers. Those numbers alone clearly shows that the referees were not favoring SMB during the match.

For the Manila Classico, the number of personal fouls are close. Magnolia has only two more. Also, the call against Rakocevic when he was ejected was a good call.

Turnover wise, Ginebra committed more. So, in my eyes, the game was also called pretty well.
