PBA Imports Highlights: Magnolia chose a seasoned veteran in Europe as import!

I hope you are enjoying the 2023 PBA Commissioner's Cup finals between Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and Bay Area Dragons.

The good thing is, the moment that ends, the 2023 PBA Governors' Cup will also start immediately. This is to give as much time for our national team to prepare for the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

To prepare us for the upcoming Governors' Cup, it is time to check the import choices of every team. In this edition, we will tackle Magnolia and Blackwater.

Blackwater - Shawn Glover
Blackwater decided to bring back their 2022 Governors' Cup import, Shawn Glover. This year, Shawn produced 34.8 points, 54% FG, 12.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game.

He is a dominant import with a lot of excellent move to score inside. This is quite surprising to me because their Commissioner's Cup import is also an inside operator and we saw that it did not work that much. The big difference is that Glover loves to score more than pass. That may not be enough to really feel good about this.

Magnolia - Eric McCree
After going for an import with European origin in the Commissioner's Cup, Magnolia will again get someone connected to the European continent. Looking at the numbers, he could be a nice find again for Magnolia.

In the NBA G League, he has career averages of 17.9 points, 43% FG, 38% 3FG, 5.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 2.0 three-pointers made per game.

Getting a good three-point shooter is the right decision for Magnolia. The only issue for me is that Eric is focus more on scoring and not creating for his teammates.
