I have a pretty good feeling about the upcoming draft. I think this draft will end up way better than the last year's draft.
#1 DYIP Deschon Winston - There is no guarantee that Winston will enter this upcoming PBA draft but if he does, he is clearly the guy. Unfortunately, what transpired in DLSU could dissuade him from continuing to play in the country.
#2 BWE One of Paras/Thirdy/Ramos/Baltazar - It seems like Baltazar is already very unlikely to join the upcoming draft. But, we also have that report from Manila Bulletin and I suspect it is pointing to one of the other three.
#3 ROS Luis Villegas - I really hope that Villegas will join the upcoming draft. PBA badly needs to get bigger as a league. Rain or Shine will be more than happy to get a 6'8 with shooting and handles like Luis.
#4 ROS Sedrick Barefield - He is a free agent again. I really feel that the PBA is still his target. I just hope the PBA will not create another reason for him not to join.
#5 NOR Juan Gomez de Liano - He is now playing in Europe and he is doing well. There is a chance that his current play their will entice him not to join yet but his name can still remain for now.
#6 MER Will Gozum - Charles Tiu, the coach of St. Benilde, is currently an assistant for the Meralco Bols. With that connection, I am pretty sure Meralco will target Gozum.
#7 PHX CJ Lane - I think Lane will get a lot of hype in our way to the draft. The guy played guard in his younger days until growth spurt push his height to 6'10.
#8 XERS Zavier Lucero - I understand that Zavier just suffered an ACL injury but the guy's potential is too high for him to fall any further. It will be a big mistake for XERS if they will not catch him in this spot.
#9 NLEX Henry Galinato - Galinato is giving me that Zion Williamson vibes. Someone who is strong enough that he can easily be a star. NLEX needs a bigman and Henry played for UP that is connected to he MVP group.
#10 NOR Caelan Tiongson - Assuming that Ginebra wants him. I do not think they will take the risk of waiting for him the second round. So, they can talk to Northport and grab him at this point!
#11 DYIP Brandon Bates - It will be hard for Terrafirma to say no to a 6'8 giant like Bates at this point. He plays traditionally but his footwork is better than expected and he is quite strong.
#12 MAG Keith Datu - If Magnolia is still searching for a future bigman during the draft, Datu will be an interesting project to grab. A 6'8 player who played as a wing in America.
