Out of nowhere, the dream of a big portion of the fanbase of the San Miguel Beermen was fulfilled today! Coach Leo Austria will not be the head coach of their favorite team for the upcoming 2023 PBA Governors' Cup!
But, it is not as conclusive as the headline suggests. According to Spin.ph, coach Leo was the one who asked for a sabbatical leave from the management.
He is not yet out from the team. He is still under the position of team consultant. Team manager Gee Abanilla told Spin.ph that coach Leo approached them a few days ago.
While Tiebreakertimes is reporting that their sources informed them that coach Jorge has been handling the practices of San Miguel and not coach Leo.
According to some insiders, coach Leo and the sports manager of the San Miguel Corporation, Alfrancis Chua, are not in a good relationship and this could be the reason why he is finally out of his position.
If coach Leo will not return to his position, he will still end up with a career that is worthy of a Hall-of-Fame induction.
