PBA Imports Highlights: Converge choose a very unique import!

There is no question that the ongoing finals between Bay Area Dragons and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel will end up as one of the most successful ones in this century.

Nevertheless, the 2023 PBA Governors' Cup is also just a few weeks from now. All the other eleven local teams are already preparing for it.

And to provide you a glimpse, let us look at the import choices of two independent teams.

Converge - Ethan Rusbatch
PBA teams usually tap basketball players from America as their import. The next choice will be the Europeans. So, it is very surprising to see Converge choose a guy from New Zealand. Actually, he already played against our national team.

Rusbatch is a strong wing who can shoot it lights out. That will be his biggest contribution on the offensive end. Unfortunately, I do not think he can be consistent in terms of breaking down the defense. He is strong and that will be a factor on both ends of the court.

Phoenix - Du'Vaughn Maxwell
Phoenix decided to bring back Du'Vaughn for this Governors' Cup. In four games with Phoenix last year, he averaged 27.5 points, 13.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game.

I think, the concept here of Phoenix is that they have the shooting that will open up the court for Du'Vaughn. I am actually excited to watch if Maxwell can really flourish for an entire tournament. The guy is explosive and long. He can be a monster this upcoming tournament.
