PBA Imports Highlights: San Miguel Beermen with a disappointing choice?

Even though we started the year with a lot of trades, the real story was the number of new head coaches for this tournament!

In short, there were a lot of veteran coaches that we will not see this year. Coach Leo Austria and coach Topex Robinson are two of those.

So with new head coaches, who are the imports that they chose?

San Miguel - Cameron Clark
San Miguel made a last minute change for their import by letting their first choice, Marcus Weathers, play for Northport. Clark played for NLEX Road Warriors last year.

He is not the usual high profile import that San Miguel usually brings. Nevertheless, he did put up good numbers last year. He averaged 24.8 points, 50% FG, 11.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.8 steals per game. The biggest issue here is the non-existent three-point shooting of Clark.

Grade: C

Phoenix - Du'Vaughn Maxwell
Phoenix made the right choice of bringing back an effective import in Maxwell. He played 4 games with them, last year. He manufactured 27.5 points, 63% FG, 13.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.5 steals, 1.0 block and 3.5 turnovers per game.

He is also not a three-point shooter but that should not be an issue because Phoenix has a plethora of shooters. Maxwell will get maximum spacing to continue his impressive scoring run.
