PBA Trade Analysis: Northport is now a LEGIT TITLE CONTENDER?

So, the initial trade that the public received was Kevin Ferrer, MJ Ayaay and two 2nd round picks for Javi Gomez de Liano and Joshua Munzon.

If you did not read my initial assessment for that trade, you can read it here. The most important part is that in my assessment, Joshua Munzon for Kevin Ferrer and MJ Ayaay is not fair!

So, Kevin Ferrer for Munzon straight swap is even worse.

The numbers clearly show that Munzon is more valuable. Munzon is younger by two years. Munzon already has a tournament wherein he averaged more than 15 points per game.

Ferrer never did that. Yes. Ferrer is the more productive player now. His shooting is better. His defense is way more consistent. But Ginebra even gave up on him. Unlike Arvin though, he did not show that he can still be a starting-caliber forward in the league in Northport.

But Munzon clearly has the potential of becoming a top 10 player in the league. A guy that long and with that excellent handle has a good path to becoming a destructive scorer in the league.

For the first time in a while, Northport clearly wins a trade. They now add Joshua Munzon to a good core of Robert Bolick, Will Navarro, Arvin Tolentino and JM Calma.

If Troy Rike return, Northport easily has the most exciting young quintet in the league.
