We just heard a trade rumor that I think is not real. NLEX wanted Jerrick Ahanmisi and Russell Escoto for Don Trollano.
We do not think that is true. There is no way NLEX is willing to give up their best overall player for a bench player and an end-of-the-bench bigman.
If Magnolia and NLEX is really talking, I think these are the trades that we can expect.
Realistic Trade: Don Trollano for Paul Lee
If NLEX wants to have a big name in their fold, Lee is the guy that they can target. Actually, these two are already part of a trade rumor dropped by Snow Badua.
I actually think that overall, Magnolia will win in this trade. Don is already the better player overall. Number wise, Don is even a better shooter now than Paul!
Perfect Trade: Don Trollano for James Laput, Jerrick Ahanmisi, Jackson Corpuz and 1st round pick
I admire the desire of coach Frankie Lim to compete but in reality, their future will be better if they focus in getting high-quality young players.
I think both James Laput and Jerrick Ahanmisi are worth it to invest upon. Laput has shown glimpses that he can be a starting center in the future. While Ahanmisi is now meeting his hype of being a hyper-shooter. Add the 1st round pick and Jackson Corpuz and the future of NLEX is on a better way.
While Magnolia gave up players that do not play a big role in their current rotation and received a player that will increased their talent level.
