Gilas Controversy: Top 3 SNUBS in the 2023 SEA Games player pool!

I am pretty sure that for a lot of us, the defeat that we suffered in the 2021 SEA games is still inflicting pain in our basketball fandom ego.

The Philippines is gunning for redemption and the 28-man pool is being led by Justin Brownlee and Christian Standhardinger.

Now, even with the 28 names that they put in the pool, they are still names that we think are more deserving than guys that they decided to include.

So, who are the top 3 biggest snub?

#3 Maverick Ahanmisi
Maverick just delivered his best conference ever! And yet guards with lower outputs like Chris Ross and Stanley Pringle managed to get into the team. Pringle will also not be eligible for the World Cup like Maverick. So, what is the point of putting him there over Maverick?

#2 Tyler Tio
Tio has a good case to be the Rookie of the Year this season in the PBA. Unfortunately, that is still not enough to get his name in that 28-man pool. Instead of getting a young guard like him, they decided to put Chris Ross there.

#1 Don Trollano
The guy is a top 10 player in the PBA this season. He is putting up 16.3 points, 47% FG, 44% 3FG, 5.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists. He can play the guard position in the International game and he will provide above-average shooting and acceptable level of defense. But, that is still not enough to get his name in the list.
