PBA Analysis: San Miguel should FIRE coach Jorge Gallent?

Yesterday will be the last day of the streak of San Miguel of not getting swept in a five-game series. Barangay Ginebra finally delivered their first ever sweeping in a five-game series.

And to be honest, this is unexpected. Even without Junemar Fajardo, San Miguel is still a very strong team. They ended up the elimination round with one of the best offenses.

Unfortunately, they met Barangay Ginebra. A team who is also missing one of their star giants in Japeth Aguilar and their most reliable pure point guard, LA Tenorio.

So, to just conclude that San Miguel suffered this defeat due to the injury of Junemar Fajardo will be very shallow to say the least.

Maybe, it is all about the inexperience of coach Jorge Gallent. But, he has been a part of the coaching staff of San Miguel for a while. He should be familiar with what to do in the playoffs.

Now, San Miguel is facing a dilemma. Coach Jorge is awesome in the elimination round. But this sweep in the hands of Ginebra questions his ability in the playoffs.

Should they give him another chance? Or maybe, it is time for coach Leo Austria to return?

I think, he should get an opportunity to lead them in the Philippine Cup. If he fails to defend their crown, then replace him.
