Junemar Fajardo has been the anchor of the San Miguel Beermen for almost a decade now. They have never won a championship without him.
This Governors' Cup, he is averaging 14.3 points, 54% FG, 12.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.4 blocks per game. His defense is reliable this tournament.
Unfortunately, he suffered an MCL injury and if coach Leo Austria is still the coach of San Miguel, we can already conclude that the Beermen will not win the crown.
Now, they are under coach Jorge Gallent. If he is better than coach Leo, coach Jorge needs to at least reach the Finals!
Reaching the Finals without Junemar and with an average import will write itself up as a big accomplishment for coach Jorge.
Overall, San Miguel still have the chance to win the championship. In terms of line-up, I actually think that they still have one of the top 3 strongest together with TNT and Ginebra.
With CJ Perez still there to lead their offense and with a plethora of very good players around him, they should still have a chance.
