PBA Controversy: Is Aaron Black playing hard for the job of his father?

Remember the reaction when Meralco Bolts drafted Aaron Black? Of course, those reactions were well-understood. And truth-be-told, Meralco will not draft Aaron back then if his surname is not Black.

That decision though is looking very well right now. Yes, you can still look at it as a product of nepotism but does it matter now?

Unfortunately, Meralco is just not talented enough to win a championship in past several years. Fortunately for the father-and-son, Aaron has been improving rapidly.

But, the desire of the fans and the management to win a championship is also getting hotter. And according to the rumors, it is almost a done deal now that coach Norman will not be the head coach of Meralco next season.

The only way for that not to happen is to get the championship. And it seems like Aaron knows that too and he is really fighting hard for it.

He just rescued Meralco in their game 2 against TNT. The way he played the 4th quarter and the Overtime was really splendid. He was their ace player during that stretch.

Black is slowly building up a name for himself. If he can use the situation of his father to go to another level, he should do so.
