PBA Free Agency: Top 10 Upcoming Unrestricted Free Agent!

We saw last year how the MVP group and the SMC teams fought over the unrestricted free agents. Will that happen again this year?

This year 2023, the 2016 draft is now eligible to be an Unrestricted Free Agent. Here are the top 10 players from that draft to choose from!

#10 Reden Celda
I am not even aware of who Celda was during that draft. But the guy has managed to stay in the league by being active on both ends of the court.

#9 Mike Tolomia
Tolomia entered the PBA with a lot of promise. Unfortunately, he was not good enough to find a home. He is now a solid bench guard for any team that needs one.

#8 Mac Belo
I think I will still draft Belo as #1 pick if I go back to the 2016 draft and do it again. I do not know what really happened but he did show it in the PBA that he can be elite on both ends of the court. I just hope he can still redeem himself.

#7 Carl Bryan Cruz
Carl is a solid 3-and-D player who is having a hard time of finding consistent minutes in the deep squad of TNT Tropang Giga.

#6 Russel Escoto
Escoto found some opportunity in Governors' Cup and he delivered. He is still a nimble bigman with the willingness to take long bombs.

#5 Von Pessumal
Unfortunately for Von, he is also not getting enough playing time in Ginebra. Actually, he was averaging more minutes last season. For another team, Von can finally find that role that he deserves.

#4 Rashawn McCarthy
McCarthy was part of the regular draft in 2016 and he is the most successful. McCarthy is a big guard who can do everything. He can be a good bench guard for playoff teams.

#3 Kevin Ferrer
Ferrer failed to meet the hype during the draft seven years ago. He is not a superstar but he is still a solid 3-and-D bigman. A lot of teams need a guy like him.

#2 Jio Jalalon
Jio has been part of several trade rumors in his career in the PBA. Now, he can now control his destination. Jio just delivered his best season in the league. I am pretty sure Magnolia will need to pay bigger to keep him.

#1 RR Pogoy
Pogoy is clearly the number 1 guy for this batch. He is silently an MVP candidate this year. If they win the 2023 PBA Governors' Cup, his candidacy will be very strong.
