PBA Trade Rumors: Converge, Rain or Shine, Phoenix Tade Suggestion!

We are now patiently awaiting for the PBA on tour and the preparation of our Gilas national team for the upcoming 2023 FIBA World Cup.

Actually, the preparation is already in a bad start because of what happened in the 2023 SEA games. Nevertheless, they still have a few months before the real thing.

Now, to have some discussion, we are running down our top trade target suggestion for each team. In this edition, we will talk about Converge, Rain or Shine and Phoenix.

Converge: Passing Point Guard
They have a lot of scoring guards, but they don't have a true point guard who can run the offense and create for others. A good point guard would help them get their offense flowing and would make their other guards even more dangerous. Aljun Melecio and Alec Stockton are great ball-handlers but they are not very good in terms of creating plays for others. They could try to get the young reliable guys like Andrei Caracut of Rain or Shine or JP Calvo of Terrafirma.

Rain or Shine: Young guy with a very high ceiling
I think it is very clear to coach Yeng Guiao that it is not yet there time. That they may need at least another year of construction before dreaming of competing for the title. So, targeting the young guy with the highest potential is the way to go. So, I think they should consider trading for Jeo Ambohot of Converge or maybe Jeremiah Gray of Ginebra.

Phoenix: Young giant
Phoenix never had a giant in their time in the PBA. So, they should try to look for one in this offseason. Just the same with Rain or Shine, Jeo Ambohot of Converge is the tastiest target. Another one could be Troy Rike if they can persuade Northport to let his rights go.
