PBA Trade Rumors: Converge-Terrafirma blockbuster #1 pick mock trade by PBA Insider!

It is getting clearer by the days that Converge will give their best shot to take the right pick in the upcoming draft, so that they can choose Justine Baltazar.

Personally, I hope that happens because he will empower an Independent team. The league will be much better with more good teams battling for the crown!

Now, PBA Insider of Twitter posted a potential trade. Let us look at it.

Terrafirma receives:

- 2023 first round pick (9th)
- 2023 first round pick (10th)
- 2023 second round pick (14th)
- Jeo Ambohot
- Kevin Racal
- Jerrick Balanza

Converge receives:

- 2023 first overall pick (Justine Baltazar)
- Javi Gomez de Liano

I am actually shocked that in the poll that PBA Insider posted, almost 60% chose Converge as the winner of the trade.

I understand that the #1 pick is really precious and that Justine Baltazar has the potential to become a top 5 player in the league for several seasons.

Still though, Terrafirma will get two 1st round picks and we can look at that #14 pick as a first round value too if the depth that we are anticipating for the draft will happen.

But let us go deep into it.

The #9 and #10 pick should be able to cover 20% of the value of Baltazar if the upcoming draft is as deep as we expect it to be. That means 40% will be covered by the two.

Now, it is easy to underrated Jeo Ambohot because he was not given playing time in his rookie season but in our eyes, he still a very good prospect. He should cover 33% of the trade value of Baltazar. Imagine him going to San Miguel after a few tournaments with Terrafirma.

Then the #14 pick should cover 12% and add the things above and 85% of Justine's trade value is already covered. Racal and Balanza are not that beloved by the fanbase but I think they are credible enough to cover the remaining 85%.

Unfortunately though for Terrafirma, they are also giving Javi Gomez de Liano in the trade and with our analysis above, it means he will become the winning piece for Converge.
