Just like the stories of millions of Overseas Filipino Workers, working in another land is not just 100% pure fun. Surviving with all the money out there but way distant from your family physically is not easy.
That could be the story right now behind the rumor of RJ Abarrientos and Hyundai Mobis Phoebus talking of contract termination.
Hyundai ended up with the 4th best record this year but they failed to reach the semifinals. But, RJ did well in his time there.
He was so good that they awarded him with the Rookie of the Year! He manufactured 13.6 points, 4.8 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.4 steals in 51 games.
RJ showcased that the skill level of Pinoy is on another level compared to the Koreans. He was dazzling and crafting in his tenure in the KBL.
Now, if the contract termination happens, is the PBA an option?
They have said it already that PBA is always an option. With his performance in KBL, I am pretty sure that the rich squads are craving to get him.
Just imagine Ginebra getting him or Converge. Two of the rich squads who are badly in need of a point guard.
