PBA Trade History: Top 5 Biggest Trade in 2018!

With a very long offseason for the league, it is just right that we check up the history of the league. Let us start by providing you our list of the top 5 biggest trades in the last four years.

We will start for the year 2018. It is just four years ago but as we go over the list, you will see that a lot has changed!

#5
TNT received Don Trollano
Rain or Shine received Norbert Torres

This is easily one of the best one-on-one trades that TNT made with an independent team in the history of the franchise. It was in TNT actually that Don found his groove and developmental path into a star-caliber player. Torres was promising back then but he was nothing special.

#4
Phoenix received Calvin Abueva
Alaska received Karl Dehesa and 2019 1st of PHX

This trade shocked a lot of people when it was announced. Abueva was very popular during this time. He was easily one of the top 3 most popular player in the league. So, the rich squads wanted him so bad. But Alaska decided to give him to a fellow independent team.

#3
TNT received Jericho Cruz
Rain or Shine received Sidney Onwubere, Kris Rosales, 2018 1st

This is a very underrated trade. What makes this interesting is that all of the players involve are still in the PBA and none are with the team in this trade. That 2018 1st ended up to be Javee Mocon. Can you jus imagine if TNT ended up with Mocon?

#2

NLEX: JP Erram, Papot Paredes
TNT:: Michael Miranda, 2022 2nd
BWE: Paul Desiderio, Abu Tratter, 2022 2nd, Alfrancis Tamsi

The only farm team trade in this list. The main goal was to get JP Erram to NLEX during this year. I think, NLEX was still being look at by the MVP management as a legit team during this time. Of course, JP ended up with TNT. Tratter ended up with Alaska. I am not sure Tratter could have found his way to Alaska without this trade.

#1

TNT received Terrence Romeo and Yousef Taha
Northport received Moala Tautuaa 2020 1st, 2021 2nd

This is a very interesting trade because it involves the flagship squads of the San Miguel Corporation and the MVP group. This trade was analyzed by the fans as TNT giving up on Tautuaa. While it was shocking to see Romeo go to TNT knowing the connection of Northport to the San Miguel Corporation.
