After several weeks of not giving a hint of any trade in the PBA, Snow Badua finally gave us one. And it involves the most popular team in the league.
I am pretty sure Ginebra fans out there are relieved to see Ginebra in a trade rumor. They just heard a few weeks ago that Ginebra is trying to keep the team together. That did not sit well with the fan base who witnessed the failure of Ginebra to defend their Governor Cup title.
Now, the rumor state that they are adding a guard. The main clue is the word "Balbon". Now, they can have a new guard either through trade or free agent signing.
In terms of trade, the most popular name is Juami Tiongson.
Juami is having an excellent preseason. I am really shocked with the way Juami is playing offensively even with his obvious athletic limitations.
Unfortunately for the Ginebra fans who want Juami, it seems like he is not the guy.
With the two Tweets that Snow Re-Tweeted, it became obvious that Maverick Ahanmisi is the guy that he is referring too.
It seems like Ginebra won the sweepstake for Maverick. And even if you hate him, Ginebra will still add one of the top 10 guard/wing in the league without giving up anything.
That makes it a big win for them.
