As we continue to wait for the 2023 FIBA World Cup, let me give you a new series of articles wherein we will look at the players that should be #1 in the no trade list of each team!
It is easy to assume that the player that should be here in this list is the best player of each team. But, situations are different for each team.
So, we will start with Magnolia, TNT and Northport.
Magnolia - Jio Jalalon
Magnolia is a hard one. Jalalon, James Laput and Ian Sangalang has good reasons for them to be the guy for the Hotshots. But at the end of the day, Jio is just entering his prime and he is showing everyone that he may have a ceiling of being the primary guard of a championship team.
TNT - Calvin Oftana
Oftana is way younger than Mikey Williams. Mikey is clearly the best player of TNT but because of the huge age difference, I think Oftana should be the #1 in the list. He is also a big forward that is actually much harder to find than a dynamic scoring guard like Mikey.
Northport - Arvin Tolentino
This one is easy. Arvin is young and he is already the best player of Northport. I also think that he clearly has the highest potential out of all the players in Northport.
