2023 PBA Draft Analysis: Top 5 Biggest Steals!

For a draft with 79 picks, choosing the 5 best candidates that can turnout to become the steal of the draft is not an easy thing to do.

Now, let us clear about this. When we say steal, we are talking about players who ended up way higher in a re-draft, 20 years from now. In short, he has a career that is way better than his draft position.

Here are my choices.

#5. Kyt Jimenez
I think Kyt is easily one of the top 10 ball-handlers in that draft. Yes, he is not a good fit for modern basketball. Still though, players who can breakdown the defense is very important in winning a title. It cannot always be about spacing and passing.

#4. Deschon Winston
I still have him here at #4 because of the potential that he will still end up as the top guy for this draft. If you have forgotten about how good he is, just look at his UAAP highlights. The guy is trouble for defenses. He can easily become a taller Mikey Williams and can you imagine that?

#3. John Lloyd Clemente
I have JLC consistently as the 1st round pick of Phoenix in my mock draft. Phoenix still got him but it was already in the 4th round. And I think, he could end up as the best one out of all their draftees. JLC will not wow anyone with his moves. But 90% of the time, he is making the right decision.

#2. Shean Jackson
Shean' skills are not yet good enough for him to be part of the PBA. But if you add his world-class athleticism, it is easily the best bet in this draft. Jackson just need to improve his skills by at least two levels and he is already a starting caliber guard! That is how insane his athleticism is!

#1 Fran Yu
He was drafted by a team that needs a point guard. He already showed that he can play in the PBA. So, he will get the opportunity to prove that he is a PBA-level guard. That almost guarantee a long career for him.
