PBA Free Agency: Ginebra added the top scorer of Converge!

Maverick Ahanmisi has made his decision after a prolonged wait. According to a report from Tiebreakertimes, which closely monitored the situation, the 6-foot-2 combo guard inked a three-year, max contract with Ginebra early last week.

In fact, Ahanmisi wasted no time and reported to the Ginebra camp the following Friday. His status as part of the 2015 draft class means he was an unrestricted free agent prior to this signing. His previous contract with Converge had expired on June 7.

During the 2022-23 season, Ahanmisi made his presence felt in 38 games, boasting averages of 13.72 points, 5.94 rebounds, 3.78 assists, and 1.22 steals per game. His standout performance came in the 2023 Governors’ Cup, where he put up numbers that rivaled those of an import, averaging 19.92 points, 6.58 rebounds, 3.08 assists, and 1.17 steals per game.

Ahanmisi's arrival is a timely boost for Ginebra, especially with Jeremiah Gray sidelined for the season and LA Tenorio still on the road to recovery.

I still believed that Converge made the wrong decision of not re-signing him but at the very least, Schonny Winston is coming.

On the other hand, Ginebra just got a veteran that can now cover more shots that Pringle is now missing due to old age and injury.
