PBA Trade Rumor: Rain or Shine will trade Henry Galinato to TNT!

Read the title of the article again. The word "will" is crucial because the final trade between Rain or Shine and TNT is not yet final!

Henry Galinato's tenure with Rain or Shine is destined to be brief, as Coach Yeng Guiao has revealed the Elasto Painters' plan to send the former University of the Philippines big man to TNT. This arrangement was agreed upon before the PBA Season 48 Draft.

Guiao explained that the deal involves a future first-round pick. He stated, "The basic deal is Galinato for their first-round pick in the future. It's as straightforward as that. We will work out the details later on." This trade move was disclosed during the draft proceedings at Market! Market! in Taguig.

Rain or Shine originally selected the 6-foot-7 Galinato in the second round, 15th overall, making him the team's third big man chosen from a record draft pool, following the selections of Luis Villegas and Keith Datu at Nos. 3 and 4, respectively.

However, Galinato will soon be wearing a different jersey, and this is why TNT did not make any selections in the draft. Fortunately for Rain or Shine, the former one-and-done Fighting Maroon was still available when it was their turn to choose in the second round.

Coach Guiao elaborated, "We have an arrangement with TNT that if he's available, we'll take him, and we'll work out a trade. So we took him (Galinato) in for that deal with them (Tropang Giga)."

Rain or Shine intends to expedite the trade process with the Tropang Giga by promptly endorsing Galinato to them.

If the trade is a straight Galinat for the 2025 1st of TNT, which team won?

It is clearly Rain or Shine in my eyes and they do in every angle. To simplify, they basically turned a 2nd round pick for a 1st round pick. There are people who thinks that it is not a guarantee because the depth for that draft is not a guarantee.

The way I see it, the depth of the draft will be sustainable knowing the number of blue chip pure blooded Filipino who decided to postpone their entry to the league and the underrated number of Fil-Foreign players around the world.
