PBA Rumors: San Miguel has a superstar import as back-up?

Myles Powell recently made a commitment to Chris Ross after learning about Ross's new role as a playing assistant coach for the San Miguel team in the PBA.

In a tweet, the former Bay Area Dragons import expressed his willingness to join Ross at San Miguel and wear the SMB jersey for a season once Ross transitions into coaching. Ross reciprocated the sentiment, teasing the potential future collaboration of "Powerman and Coach Chris" on a PBA court.

During the PBA Media Day, Ross disclosed that he had been appointed as one of the assistant coaches under Jorge Gallent with the Beermen by San Miguel's sports director Alfrancis Chua.

Despite his newfound coaching responsibilities, the nine-time PBA champion and seven-time All-Defensive Team member affirmed his plan to continue playing for two more years before fully committing to coaching.

So, is Myles a good fit with San Miguel?

Knowing that San Miguel has the deepest rotation of ball-handlers, I do not think it will work smoothly. Adding him means minimizing the talent of their other stars.
