PBA Controversy: Ginebra and San Miguel legend show support to CONTROVERSIAL TNT Superstar!

Mikey Williams, embroiled in a well-publicized contract dispute with TNT Tropang Giga, seems to be spending his days delving into news about the ongoing disagreement. On Wednesday, he shared a robust quote on his Instagram Story, asserting that he's "not stressing bout no sh*t nomo." The use of double negatives emphasized his resolute stance.

While TNT has chosen to remain relatively silent on the matter, team manager and interim coach Jojo Lastimosa recently indicated that negotiations are now in the hands of coach Chot Reyes. Williams, who reportedly rejected a substantial offer from Tropang Giga, believes he made the right call, expressing on Instagram, "Risk is always better than regret. Just be patient."

His posts garnered responses from various PBA players, including Chris Ross of the San Miguel Beermen, Jared Dillinger of Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, and Schonny Winston of Converge FiberXers. Even former PBA player Joe Devance weighed in. Notably, TNT center Poy Erram reacted with three 100 emojis.

Despite Williams' absence, Tropang Giga has started the PBA Commissioner's Cup strongly with a 2-1 record, securing a recent victory against the Terrafirma Dyip on Wednesday.

In an era where player empowerment holds sway, the 32-year-old Williams appears steadfast in recognizing his own value and pursuing what he deems the best financial compensation. While opinions among fans may vary, Williams, often labeled as spunky, seems comfortable with the choices he's making. To paraphrase the great literary figure William Shakespeare: "Not stressing bout no sh*t nomo."

People are now wondering if the TNT superstar is pushing for a trade. While superstars from other elite teams could be sending the message that they understand and that their current teams will also understand.
