PBA Free Agency: Top 3 teams that should target the Converge bigman!

Converge has moved Barkley Ebona to the free agency list following the signing of rookie draftee King Caralipio. The 6-foot-6 Ebona finds himself on the list of unrestricted free agents with rights to salary, indicating that he still holds an existing contract with the FiberXers but is free to sign with any team of his choice.

Caralipio, the reigning NCAA Finals MVP from Letran, inked a deal with Converge on Monday, marking the conclusion of his season with the Knights. His tenure with the Zamboanga Family's Brand Sardines ended after the team's elimination in the MPBL playoffs by the Bacoor City Strikers. Caralipio, selected in the fourth round (No. 42 overall) by Converge in the recent rookie draft, is poised to join the Purple Nation.

Ebona came to Converge as part of a trade with Blackwater, which involved the exchange of Mike Digregorio, Tyrus Hill, and RK Ilagan. Previously, he was the No. 4 overall pick by Alaska in the 2019 draft before a later trade sent him to the Bossing along with JVee Casio in exchange for Mike Tolomia and a 2022 second-round pick.

Now, Ebona is free to sign with any team that he wants to. Who are the top 3 teams that should consider him?

#3. Phoenix Super LPG
Phoenix continue to be one of the smallest team in the league. They have a good number of bigs but with their current situation, maximizing the number of bigs is crucial for sustainability.

#2. TNT Tropang Giga

I am pretty sure Kelly Williams did not anticipate that he will have the heaviest role in this first tournament of the season. With the injury to JP Erram and Justin Chua, TNT needs a dependable bigman. Ebona could actually be their best post scorer if signed with TNT.

#1. Northport Batang Pier
They are the clearest team who needs a dependable bigman. Northport is so shallow with their frontline rotation that they need to give big minutes to their rookie undersize bigman Cade Flores. Cade is doing well but they badly need additional body.
