PBA Trade Rumors: Phoenix star made a hint of a potential BLOCKBUSTER trade?

Jason Perkins continues to elevate his performance in the ongoing PBA Season 48 Commissioner’s Cup, proving to be a crucial asset for Phoenix Super LPG. In their recent game against Blackwater, Perkins led the Fuel Masters to a 111-106 victory, securing their second consecutive win. The sixth-year forward had an impressive outing, contributing 23 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and a steal.

During the postgame press conference at the SMART Araneta Coliseum, head coach Jamike Jarin acknowledged Perkins' pivotal role in the team's success. Jarin emphasized, “It’s the guy on my left that’s why we were able to win. The stat sheet won’t show it, but he did all the great things.”

Perkins initially went scoreless in Phoenix’s season-opener against NLEX but has since been a consistent contributor. In their loss to Magnolia, he scored 11 points, followed by a 14-point performance in their victory over Rain or Shine. Notably, Perkins' shooting percentage has seen improvement, reaching 41%, with a standout 53% accuracy in the game against Blackwater.

The forward's enhanced performance can be attributed to his improved physical condition, as he now boasts a leaner frame compared to previous seasons. Additionally, Perkins had a head start on conditioning, being part of the Gilas pool for the 19th Asian Games a few months before the PBA season began.

In a lighthearted moment, Perkins humorously remarked, “I switched to San Mig Lights from Red Horse, for fewer calories. And San Mig came out with the Zero, so I’ve been doing that sometimes as well.” The statement drew laughter from the press. On a serious note, Perkins, known for his selfless attitude, credited the entire Fuel Masters team for their success, emphasizing their cohesion within Coach Jamike’s system.

Phoenix Super LPG currently stands at solo second in the standings with a 3-1 record, showcasing their effective teamwork and Perkins' significant contributions to the team's victories.

Fans are quick to raise their eyebrows about his statement of switching to San Mig. Is he hinting about a move to San Miguel?

Remember that there was a rumor in the past that San Miguel is targeting Perkins. For the sake of parity though, let us hope that a trade will not happen.
