PBA Trade Analysis: NLEX or Blackwater, who was the BIGGER LOSER of the Brandon Rosser Blockbuster TRADE?

We again saw a three team deal between NLEX, Blackwater and TNT. It seems like this has been an annual occurrence in the PBA.

The question is, did it result again to a clear TNT win and NLEX and Blackwater both losses?

Here is the deal and we will scrutinize it per team!
TNT acquired Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser
Blackwater acquired Fred Tungcab, Justin Chua and 2026 TNT 1st
NLEX acquired Ato Ular, Yousef Taha and 2026 BWE 1st

TEAM ANALYSIS
TNT gave up Fred Tungcab, Justin Chua and 2026 TNT 1st for Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser

TNT badly needs a center. Justin Chua and JP Erram are not healthy. Kelly Williams is old. Henry Galinato is young. So, getting Brandon is an amazing thing for them.

How much did they give up? Chua was traded to TNT last year in a three team deal with NLEX and Phoenix. Looking back at that trade, Chua was value as a 2nd rounder plus a bench player.

Tungcab has shown enough glimpses to believe that he can have a long PBA career and that 2026 1st has a good chance that it will fall between 8th to 12th.

Giving that package for a center that could be top 3 center in the near future is a homerun deal by TNT.
Grade: A

Blackwater gave up Ato Ular, Yousef Taha and 2026 BWE 1st for Fred Tungcab, Justin Chua and 2026 TNT 1st

We can just compare the pieces to each other. That 2026 TNT 1st is a downgrade from the 2026 BWE 1st. Tungcab is better than Taha if we consider the reality that Taha was actually relegated already to Unrestricted Free Agency. So, he do not have a trade value. Chua is a clear downgrade from Ular. Ular is young and he looks to be capable of having a long PBA career. While Chua is about to be forced by injuries to retire.

NLEX gave up Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser for Ato Ular, Yousef Taha and 2026 BWE 1st

BGR has all the potential and current skill level to be the present and the future of NLEX. Unfortunately, they need to help out their Kuya.

That 2026 BWE 1st is the most potent thing that they received. I can say that, that 1st should cover 40% of the value of Brandon. That pick could be the one that they will use for the return of a Thirdy Ravena or the arrival of Carl Tamayo.

Yousef Taha has zero trade value because the guy is an Unrestricted Free Agent! So, it is down to Ato Ular. Ato is a super-efficient undersize bigman. He just entered his prime. I think he should be able to cover 25% of the value of Brandon.

So overall, NLEX losses 35% in this trade.
