In this trade, Ginebra clearly wins in my eyes but Meralco will be hard press to say no. Ginebra is giving up a starting caliber guard in Maverick and a young player with a very high potential.
Newsome will be a clear upgrade from Maverick, specially if you look at the defensive end. Newsome is one of the elite lockdown defenders in the league.
For Meralco, they will have a wing starter in Maverick and they can develop Jeremiah as the successor of the Newsome role in the future!
