PBA Power Ranking: Top 10 Head Coaches! Ginebra head coach is #1?

With the shocking news that Converge and coach Aldin Ayo decided to part ways, let me give you our preseason rankings of head coaches! We rank them according to their recent performance. When we say performance, we made sure that the quality of the roster is considered in the evaluation.

Unranked: Franco Atienza and Jong Uichico

They are new head coaches in the league. So, they do not have recent performance that we can evaluate.

10. Coach John Cardel

Their quarterfinals appearance will not erased the number of years of failing to reach the playoffs. A serious franchise would have replaced him by now.

9. Coach Jeff Cariaso

Coach Jeff is trying to build up a system in Blackwater and his players responded well. But they still losses more. Maybe, the talent is the issue. But what if it is all about the guy who molded the system?

8. Coach Bonnie Tan

Coach Bonnie showed his prowess in the Philippine Cup but failed to sustain it. I hope coach Bonnie will be given a shot to have a good roster.

7. Coach Chot Reyes

There is a big problem in TNT and it seems like even coach Chot is having a hard time finding a solution. He will get a long time to solve it.

6. Coach Jamike Jarin

Coach Jamike is knocking to the top 5 of this ranking. If he can deliver at least one more semifinals appearance, I think we should finally put him there.

5. Coach Chito Victolero

I have been a defender of coach Chito in the past few years. With their big move in the offseason, can this be the final season of coach Chito in trying to steer Magnolia to a crown?

4. Coach Jorge Gallent

It is really hard to gauge the quality of the work of coach Jorge because he is holding the strongest roster in the league. But, with his failure to deliver the Philippine Cup, he should not be on the top 3.

3. Coach Yeng Guiao

Coach Yeng is slowly but surely building something real in Rain or Shine. They have managed to reach the semifinals. Is Finals appearance next?

2. Coach Tim Cone

Just the mere fact that they pushed Meralco to game 7 while San Miguel only managed game 6, is an indication that coach Tim is still in his prime.

1. Coach Vucivic / Trillo

Considering everything, I need to put them at the spot. Winning the Philippine Cup championship when nobody expected them to, is enough reason to do so.
