In a league known for predictability in the past decade, we finally have a pretty interesting playoff bracket. It is time to give our prediction for the playoffs of the 2024-2025 PBA Commissioner's Cup. Fans are excited about the bracket because they assessed it as balance.
Will it deliver entertaining games?
For this edition, we will talk about Ginebra versus Meralco and Northport versus Magnolia.
Ginebra versus Meralco
Arguably the rivalry of the past half-decade of the PBA. Another chapter is about to be written for this rivalry. This two teams actually played just last week. Meralco played All-Filipino and Ginebra won just by 4 points.
Troy Rosario is having a good start for Ginebra. This should not be surprising knowing that coach Tim Cone is handling the team. On the other hand, CJ Cansino sustain his good development for Meralco.
This prediction is suppose to be the hardest one to make but with the injury issues of Meralco, I think choosing Ginebra is just the right choice for this one.
Northport versus Magnolia
This series for me is the hardest one to predict. Yes, Northport has the twice-to-beat edge but what is even the point of that edge knowing the connection of Northport to SMC.
Also, Magnolia has been on a hot streak entering the playoffs. They salvaged a spot in the playoffs. So, Magnolia managing to win back-to-back against Northport is a real possibility.
So, which team will win?
I will go with my guts and pick Northport. I expect Magnolia to win the first game but in the second game, Northport will show their elite form.
