The 2016 draft class is living up to the hype. This year's rumored class is also brimming with superstar talent and high upside players. Let us check the top 12.
I will give you two values, potential value and the current skills and impact value. The potential value connotes how great will this player be, if he hits his ceiling. While the CSIV refers to what the player can offer, as of the moment. The highest value is 15 for each.
Current Skills and Impact = 15
The PBA's wait for a player with Greatest PBA Player of All Time potential could end this year. Parks just proved in the Asean Basketball League that he is the best basketball player in Southeast Asia, that is not playing in the PBA. He bagged the Most Valuable Player plum with his 19.0 points, 7.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.
Current Skills and Impact = 14
Kiefer has the best resume in terms of playmaking and scoring in the amateurs, today. He has a lot of haters because of the volume of shots that he needed to make to produce. If he can fix his efficiency issues, and even off court issues, he will be a contender for the Face of the PBA tag.
Current Skills and Impact = 13
Kiefer is not the lone college phenom that we may see in the 2017 PBA draft. Jeron proved in his 1st conference in the D-League that his drives to the basket are one of the few unstoppable moves in the PBA. He has not develop a decent outside shot so the team that will draft him will need to surround him with the proper pieces.
Current Skills and Impact = 14
Brickman will be a game-changer in the PBA. Brickman is one of the purest point guard out there. I will not be shock if he manage to lead the league in assists in his rookie year. His experience in different leagues outside the PBA makes him a veteran, in a sense. The team that will select him will get a PBA-ready baller.
Current Skills and Impact = 12
I am really intrigue about Davon Potts. He will not blow away anyone with his athleticism but he is very skilled. I always saw one of the most unique basketball traits in the world, killer instinct.
Current Skills and Impact = 13
Size and agility could be an issue for Perkins in the PBA. He is not that big enough to be a full-pledge power forward and not agile enough to be a small forward. Nevertheless, he will be a useful player with his scoring ability and strength.
Current Skills and Impact = 11
I love his no nonsense attitude. In the ABL, he stood his ground against the foreign players, although his defense was regularly exploited by them. His hustle and grit makes him a viable player. He badly needs to develop some post moves if he wants to have a long PBA career.
#8 Robert Bolick
Potential = 11
Current Skills and Impact = 12
He is the Most Valuable Player of the PBA D League Aspirant's Cup. He has been scrapping the amateurs after failing to find his footing in DLSU. He is a vibrant wing with a good chance of becoming a 3-and-D in the future.
Current Skills and Impact = 11
Don't miss out on Tallo. Even though the college league, CESAFI, that he dominated was not at par with UAAP and NCAA, his performance there still proved the quality of his play. He can do everything on offense but his defense is a big question mark.
Current Skills and Impact = 10
Size matters in the PBA. Gabayni is a legit 6'6 who is in love with rebounds. That is a solid foundation for a bigman prospect. If he wants to have a long PBA career, he will need to develop post moves.
Current Skills and Impact = 8
He is feasting playing around a mammoth, Rod Ebondo, in the D League. He is very athletic and hardworking that he usually fills up the stat sheet. He still needs to develop his skills in a lot of areas but in terms of tools, Aris is pretty special.
Current Skills and Impact = 10
Desiderio is a scorer. He was the #1 option for UP in the recent UAAP season. What make him special is his nose for rebounds. Paul could easily rise up in the ranking with better efficiency from the outside.

Rey Nambatac nakalimutan niyo sir. Mas first round potential kesa kay Tallo at Desiderio.
ReplyDeleteNambatac has one more year left at Letran.
Deletebolick, potts, desiderio, gabayni meron pa silang atleast 1 playing year pa, bakit agad nandyan
DeleteHindi pa eligible si Tallo sa PBA draft and even if ma-fulfill na nya eligibility after this coming PBA D-league, NO MVP-owned PBA team will draft him.
ReplyDeleteMas mataas pa chances nila Mocon, Nambatac, Flores et al kesa kay Tallo.
